Unlicensed cancer, diabetes medicine worth 6.6 crores seized in Kolkata
Tigress Zeenat, who has been on the move across Purulia and Bankura, was last spotted entering the Gosai Dihir forest in Bankura on Saturday morning after leaving Purulia’s Dangordihir jungle. The forest department immediately launched an operation to capture the tigress, utilizing infrared thermal drones to track her movements. The operation began at 10 a.m. on Saturday, with forest workers focusing on sedating and capturing her.
Around 3 p.m. on Saturday, the first sedative shot was fired at the tigress, but it remains unclear if it had any effect. Throughout the afternoon and evening, authorities surrounded the forest area with nets and set fire to the surrounding region to restrict her movement. The tigress was tracked by infrared drones, and at 1:20 a.m. and again at 3 a.m. on Sunday, two more sedative shots were fired. Both shots reportedly hit their target, but the tigress did not remain sedated for long.
Despite the shots, the tigress regained her strength quickly and managed to avoid capture. The forest department, having failed to contain her, is continuing its operations. Efforts include monitoring her location with drones, using sedatives, and trying to trap her in a cage. The authorities are focused on capturing her to ensure the safety of local residents and reduce the risk of further disturbances caused by the tigress.
